"Bug on the Windshield"

by Sapphire

Jack watched as Daniel dialed in home. He was glad to get away from this planet -- not that anything really bad had happened.

And that was exactly what worried him. There was always something bad happening -- only it hadn't this time. The other shoe was about to drop. He just knew it.

With its trademark 'kawoosh' the gate activated.

Still nothing bad. He almost had expected a non-working gate would be the problem.

Sam and Teal'c stepped up to him, followed closely by Daniel. All of them looked at him expectantly, awaiting his order to leave.

" Okay, kids, let's go home."

His people smiled. They were all ready for a decent shower, something other to eat than field rations and a real bed. So was he.

Jack turned around and stepped towards the shimmering event horizon. Taking a deep breath he stepped through.

A fraction of a second before the wormhole grabbed him and he was hurled halfway across the universe, he realized what has gone wrong.

" Did anybody sent the ....?"

But by then it was too late to change anything.

"Incoming travelers, incoming travelers!" The airman's voice echoed throughout he complex.

" Who is it?" General Hammond asked.

" There is no signal, sir!"

" All right. Close the iris!"

The airman did as he was told.

The general shook his head. "I wish those Goa'uld would learn that it's no use to attack us without them having the transmitter codes ...."

Four distinct bangs was all that remained of the incoming travelers.
