Herriot
(All Creatures Great And Small)
made by Gisela
Being a fan of the British Series “All Creatures great and small” and of cats I had fun doing this project. It took me quite a while, because it functioned as an “alibi project”. Every time we visited a friend I was doing a present for – this project came along. I changed the pattern a bit, because the poor dog was on a chain. Now he is lying peacefully in the barrel surrounded by his feline friends |

Spike
(Buffy the Vampire Slayer)
made by Sapphire (2002)
Spike is a vampire from the TV show 'Buffy, the Vampire Slayer' - hence the red eyes. He has no red eyes in the show, but I thought it looked cool. As I had no pictures with red eyes for Spike, and I still wanted some shading in the eyes, I just designed them with black and white, and replaced then each stitch with a corresponding red tone chosen for the brightness of the red.
Version B of that picture was sold at MediaWest Con 2002. |

Spike, cool blue
(Buffy the Vampire Slayer / Angel)
made by Gisela
Well, this very special Vampire does make for nice motives! My girl-friend thought so too. Looking at it now, makes me think, whether I could have added some sparkle here and there. |

The Magician
made by Sapphire (2000)
'The Magician' is an animation show from 1999, which resulted in my last big foray into the world of fanfiction. Two friends of mine and I wrote over 70 stories together, which can be found here
Ace - The Magician - was my very first own design, using a small German software, which was a pain to use. Still, I'm fairly happy with the outcome. |

Ezra Standish
(The Magnificent Seven)
made by Sapphire (2001)
Ezra is from a TV show called 'The Magnificent Seven', which had a measly 23
episodes (it deserved many, many more in my
opinion). He's a gambler and a gentleman. He's played by Anthony Starke. And, well,
he's my favorite character in the show.
My friends designed that pattern for me
as a birthday present, adding the threads and the fabric thus creating a makeshift
kit. It kept me busy for quite a while and the hat and
the background drove me bonkers.

Some people did have some difficulties recognizing the face. When I startet stitching I had the same difficulties, until I finished the eyes and the nose. |

Jonathan Kent
(Smallville)
made by Sapphire (2002)
Jonathan Kent, played by John Schneider, is the father of Clark Kent in the
TV show 'Smallville'
My own design, this project
was done on a 22ct Hardanger fabric, which allows for great detail, without making
the project too big. On the other hand, as I still stitched x-stitch with two threads,
there is a certain stiffness to the final result, which I don't like too much.
After that one, I started using half stitch whenever I came across a 22ct or higher
fabric.

Coyote
(stitched on Shirt)
made by Gisela
There is only so much space on the walls in a house. So how do you combine something of a more practical use and cross stitch. Very simple – you stitch it on a shirt. The present was a full success with a friend of mine. His wife has to tear it off his back for washing. |

Also a present for a friend who is a big TAZ fan. This picture accompanied her back to England and is now hanging on a wall in London. It is one of the few motives I did with Anchor Threads. |
